The pizzeria was conceptualized by Chef Jan Rodriguez, branded and established in February 2024 and recently renamed to Pizzeria Playa to reflect the true soul and essence of the business, The pizzeria was recognized by 50 Top Pizza in December 2024, less than a year from opening, and awarded 48th place in Asia Pacific in March, 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. Pizzeria Playa is also named Best of Cebu 2024. Since then, Pizzeria Playa owner and Chef Jan Rodriguez has been serving both quality interpretations of classic and personal expressions of modern Napoletana pizzas.
